Nature and Art Workshops

As someone who is passionate about art and nature and the blend of scientific discovery with creativity, I now offer workshops for groups that are designed to connect people of all ages with nature through creativity, curiosity, and hands-on experiences.

Workshop Offerings

Each workshop includes (unless specified otherwise):
• All materials and supplies
• Guided instruction
• Setup and cleanup
• Activities tailored to the age group and goals of your participants

Workshop topics include:
• Plant Collecting & Pressing (Outdoors)
• Intro to Plant Foraging (Outdoors)
• Nature Journaling (Indoors and/or Outdoors)
• Handmade Paper Making (Indoors or Outdoors)
• Gelli Printing with Plants (Indoors or Outdoors)

For plant foraging and plant identification workshops, I typically conduct a visit of the site before the event if possible. This allows me to assess seasonal plant availability, identify educational opportunities, and tailor the experience to your specific location. The site visit is included in the workshop fee and does not add any additional charge.

For foraging workshops, participants (or parents/guardians for minors) will need to complete a liability waiver prior to participation. The workshop focuses on plant identification, safety considerations, and educational experiences, and participants will receive guidance on responsible and safe foraging practices.

Workshop Pricing

Large Group Discount

Discounted pricing is available for larger groups. Workshops with more than 20 participants qualify for reduced per-person rates. For groups larger than 20 participants, please contact me for a custom quote.

Workshop-Specific Rates

Plant Collecting & Pressing 

Estimated Time: 1-2 hours
• Minimum session fee: $150

*Option 1 ($20 per participant): Provide instruction on how to make your own plant presses out of everyday materials to use at the workshop and take home

*Option 2 ($40 per participant): Provide full plant press kits to all participants to use at the workshop and take home 

Intro to Plant Foraging

Estimated Time: 1-2 hours
• $15–20 per participant
• Minimum session fee: $150

*Can be tailored to be inclusive of multiple age ranges in one group if needed (kids & adults) or specific to younger or older participants

Nature Journaling

Estimated Time: 2 hours (Approx. 1 hour to assemble journals & 1 hour for nature journaling activity)
• $20–25 per participant with all materials provided for making and using your very own nature journal
• Minimum session fee: $150

Handmade Paper Making

Estimated Time: 2 hours to make and dry paper with optional crafting activity using handmade paper
• $30-35 per participant with all materials provided for making your own handmade paper
• Minimum session fee: $175

Gelli Printing with Plants

Estimated Time: 1-2 hours
• $25-35 per participant with all materials provided for making your own gelli plate art prints with plants (If participants would like to keep a gelli plate printing kit of their own, the price is $45 per person)
• Minimum session fee: $200

Travel

  • Within 20 miles of Verdigre, NE: Included

  • 21–50 miles: +$20

  • 51+ miles: +$0.65/mile or custom quote
